The Ionia Daily Standard, Tuesday, July 7, 1896

Darius S. Towne, Orleans, died July 4.  Funeral was held July 6, at United 
Brethren church, Orleans; services by Rev. W. H. Scott, of this city; 
interment in Orleans cemetery.  Deceased was born in Plattsburg, Clinton 
county, N.Y., March 28, 1823.  He was married June 7, 1845 at Havanna, 
Jefferson county, N.Y.  He came to Michigan in 1864.  He experienced religion 
forty years ago, and united with the M. E. church at his home in New York 
state, but after coming to this state he united with the Church of Christ at 
Woodard Lake, of which he was a member 27 years.  He leaves a wife and three 
children, two brothers and two sisters.

The family of Darius S. Towne desire to express their heartfelt thanks to 
friends and neighbors for their many kindnesses and offices of love, during 
the long illness of our husband and father.  May the dear Lord remember and 
bless for all the help and sympathy they have shown in our affliction and deep 
sorrow.
