She had been ill with influenza and her husband, also stricken, was at the point of death when his wife expired. Funeral arrangements were delayed a day or so, awaiting outcome of Mr. Towner’s illness. Mrs. Towner’s maiden name was Mary Warner. She was born in Danby and had always resided there. In March, 1890 she married Mr. Towner and the couple resided continuously on the same farm, a little south of Danby cemetery on the Mulliken road, until their illness made it necessary to go the home of the relative above named. There are no children and Mrs. Towner had no near relatives. Mr. Towner is a brother of Fred Towner and Mrs. Rose Boughner, of Danby, and Mrs. Alice Crowley, of St. Johns. The remains were taken to the Towner home following her death, where the funeral was held Saturday afternoon, Rev. Griffin, of Hoytville, officiating. Mr. Towner had considerably improved late in the week.
