The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Wednesday, April 8, 2008

June I. Townsend, age 87, of Saranac, passed away April 6, 2008 in Grand 
Rapids.

She was born Jan. 21, 1921 in Ionia the daughter of Otto and Wilma (McCoy) 
Randall. June married Albert Townsend Feb. 1943 he preceded her in death March 
1993. She was a member of Ionia Moose Lodge and Blue Star Mothers.

June is survived by her children, Robert (Mary) Nelson of Ionia, Irene 
(Vernon) Barclay of Ionia, Linda Syrjala of Ionia, Shirley Daggett of Saranac 
and Joyce (Ivan) Hardenburg of Mason; sister Betty Gulledge of Roseville, 
Mich.; sister-in-law, Bea Randall of Ionia, 22 grandchildren, several 
grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Marion Randall; sister 
Virginia; grandchildren, Susie Randolph, Cindy Hartwick, Douglas Syrjala and 
great-grandson Brandon Ferris.

Private family services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers 
contributions may be made to Shiloh Community Church. Arrangements by Lake 
Funeral Home in Ionia.
