Mr. Townsend was working in the Thumb area, adjusting hail damages claims. She was born in Berlin township, September 4, 1890 and was the daughter of William and Cora Sible. She graduated from Ionia high school and Ionia County Normal and had taught school for three years in the rural area. Mr. and Mrs. Townsend were married February 17, 1912 at the home of her parents in Berlin township. Mrs. Townsend was a member of the LeValley Methodist church and the LeValley W.S.C.S. She was also a member of the Farm Bureau. Surviving besides the husband are a daughter, Mrs. Allie Stuart of Saranac; two grandchildren and one brother, Clayton G. Sible of Flint. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon, August 29 at 2 o’clock at the LeValley Methodist church and interment will be in the family lot in Tuttle cemetery.
