Mrs. Lena Townsend passed away in Grand Rapids last Wednesday at the age of 73 
after a week’s illness due to a stroke from which she never gained 
consciousness.  She came to Hubbardston when just a young girl and lived here 
until young womanhood, married an actor and went on the stage for a while.  She 
lost her first husband and later married O. C. Townsend and lived in town until 
the past few years.  After Mr. Townsend’s death she lived at the Soldier’s Home 
Annex.  She was buried in Grand Rapids on Friday.
