BEATRICE B. TOWNSEND
Muir - Beatrice B. Townsend, 78, of Chippewa lake, formerly of Muir and 
Ionia, died Thursday, June 29, 1995, at the Ionia Memorial Hospital.

She was born June 7, 1917, in Pewamo, the daughter of Frank Gillispie and 
Rose Whitten.

She graduated from DeWitt High School. She was a cook working for the lunch 
room at the former Ypsilanti-Reed factory and then owned and operated the Hi-
Way grill in Muir. She married Harry Townsend in Ionia on Oct. 31, 1941.

She is survived by her husband, Harry, of Chippewa lake. She was preceded in 
death by two sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 3, 1995, at Hull 
Memorial Chapel. the Rev. Robert Jourdan, of North Plains Community Church, 
will officiate. Burial will be in North Plains cemetery.

Visitation will be Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 p.m and from 7-9 p.m. at the 
chapel.
