Sentinel-Std. - Monday, March 9, 1925

Mrs. Rhoda Townsend, widow of the late Eugene Townsend, died Saturday night 
at 11:03, at the home of Mrs. Herman Schlosser, 527 West Washington street, 
after a long illness. Mrs. Townsend was moved from her own home at 823 West 
Lincoln avenue to the Schlosser home early in December. Her husband died, 
October 26, 1920. Mrs. Townsend, who before her marriage was Miss Rhoda 
Evans, was born in the state of New York 79 years ago. She is survived by a 
daughter in California. The funeral will be held from the residence of Mr. 
and Mrs. Schlosser, 527 West Washington street, Wednesday afternoon at 2:30. 
Rev. E.E. Branch, of Grand Rapids, will conduct the funeral. Burial will 
take place in Highland Park cemetery.
