Sentinel-Std. - Monday, March 5, 1962

CLARKSVILLE- Earl Townsend, 82, died early Monday morning at Ionia County 
Memorial hospital.

He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Townsend, early settlers of the area, 
and was born in the centennial farm home on Jackson road. 

Mr. Townsend lived alone on a farm 50 years, and about 10 years ago went to 
make his home with his brother, William of Lake Odessa.

He is survived by five brothers, Chauncey, Jan and Ray of Grand Rapids, 
George of Fenwick and William of Lake Odessa.

Funeral will be at Beattie funeral home Wednesday, March 7 at 2 p.m. with 
interment at Clarksville cemetery.
