Lake Odessa Wave-Friday July 19, 1962

George Townsend

George A. Townsend, 76, of Orleans, passed away suddenly early Sunday morning. A 
retired farmer, he formerly lived in the Clarksville area and had lived at 
Orleans for 25 years.

Surviving are his wife, Ada; three children, Mrs.Lucille Collon of Pontiac, 
Norman of Coldwater, and Ernest of Clarksville; four brothers, Chauncy, Ray, and 
Jay all of Grand Rapids and William of rural Clarksville; three grandchildren, 
nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday at 2:30 PM at the Fitzjohn-Courser Funeral 
Home at Belding with burial in the Orleans cemetery. Rev. M.L. Brokaw of the 
Lake Odessa Methodist church officiated.
