FATHER OF LOCAL WOMAN DIES
Funeral services for Henry Townsend, 84, were held Monday at 2 p.m. at the 
Banfield Chapel in Portland. Mr Townsend died Friday evening after several years 
of failing health at the home of his son Ross Townsend at Eagle. He was a member 
of the Methodist church at Portland and had lived in that vicinity most of his 
life. He is survived by two sons, Ross at Eagle, and Stewart at Jackson, two 
daughters, Mrs Earl Reed in Lake Odessa, and Mrs Myrtle Allen at Portland, nine 
grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, one brother, Ed Townsend in Ionia, and 
one sister Mrs Ella Holmes at Ionia.
