Ionia Sentinel Standard, 24 Jul 2015

Alvin Townsend, age 91, of Detroit formerly of Lyons, passed away July 21, 2015,
in Southfield, Michigan.  He was born Feb. 27, 1924, in Lyons, Michigan, the son
of Fay and Marie (Bissell) Townsend.

Alvin is survived by his sister, Betty Dyer of Lyons; step-brother, Leslie
Johnson of Lakeview; step-sisters, Marjorie Stine of New York, Joan Garland of
Belding and Katherine Higbee of Ionia and nieces and nephews.  He was preceded
in death by his parents and one brother, Robert Townsend.

Cremation has taken place and at his request no services will be held. 
Arrangements by Lake Funeral Home of Ionia.
