Marilynn Joy Townsend, age 83, of Muir, passed away June 17, 2015, in Lansing. 
She was born Dec. 18, 1931, in Ionia the daughter of Theron and Cruee (Wilbur)
Ritchey.  Marilynn married Kenneth Townsend on Oct. 15, 1949.  He preceded her
in death in 2000.  She worked at American NODCO and then 17 years at Chrysler in
Lyons.  Marilynn was a member of First Christian Church and a 4-H Leader.

Marilynn is survived by her children, James (Ronda) Townsend of Muir, Diane
(Ron) Rogers of Florida, Nona (Bob) Rice of Hubbardston, Kenneth (Deb) Townsend
of Sumner and Leann (Jeff) Ehlert of Muir; sisters, Norma Woodbury of Alma,
Wanda Eckley of Ionia, and Pat (Raymond) Linderman of Ionia; brother-in-law,
Herb (Linda) Brown of St. Johns; 19 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and
one great-great-grandson.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband,
Kenneth Townsend; sister, Nancy Davis; three brother-in-laws, Charles Woodbury,
Ron Davis, and Walt Eckley; and nieces and nephews, Mike and Diane Woodbury and
John Davis.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 20, 11 a.m. at Lake Funeral Home in
Ionia with Pastor Kenneth Harger officiating.  Visitation on Friday from 4-7
p.m. at the funeral home.  Those wishing may make contributions to
Guillain-Barre Syndrome.
