The Ionia Standard, Friday, August 2, 1918


The remains of Mrs. Gertrude Townsend were taken to Highland park cemetery 
Wed. afternoon for their last earthly resting place.  The funeral service at 
the home was conducted by Rev. Cyrus Mendenhall, and was simple, in keeping 
with the wish and unostentatious manner that characterized her splendid life.  
The bearers were H. B. Webber, T. F. Buck, K. R. Smith Sr., J. H. Hamilton, 
F.A. Tower and W. B. Heath.  

Here from outside the city were Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Davis of Grand Rapids, Mrs. 
C. T. Wickes of Stanton, Mr. and Mrs. P. T. Edsall, Mrs. Robert Edsall, Miss 
Marian and Edwin Edsall, all of Greenville.
