Train died at his home in Segwun, this township, Saturday, October 30. Funeral services were held at the M. E. church on Tuesday, under the auspices of Wilson Post, G.A.R. and Rev. L. N. Pattison delivered the funeral address. Mr. Train was born in Vermont February 22, 1838, the youngest of his father’s family. His parents came to Michigan when Edson was two years of age and located in Boston township. He was a volunteer soldier in the United States army during the Civil war, and after a service of one year and fifteen days was discharged on account of disability. He was married to Mrs. Elizabeth Carter in the spring of 1866. In the year 1885 he became a member of the G.A.R., joining Wilson Post in this village. He was a loyal member of the post, and at his own request was buried with the G.A.R. ritualistic service. In 1893 Mr. Train joined the Methodist Episcopal church of Lowell and was a member of that society until his death. A widow and two daughters are bereft of husband and father.
