Ionia Standard, 21 Sep 1876

A deaf and dumb man, named Train, was killed on the Detroit and Milwaukee Railway 
near Vanderheyden’s brick-yard, Saturday morning.  He lived near the prison 
grounds, and had started for Ionia.  By some singular fatuity he took the 
railroad track instead of the highway, which was just as near, and equally good 
walking, and was caught by the fast express at the place above mentioned, and 
injured so that he died soon afterwards.
