Lorena M. Tran, 84, of Belding, died Saturday afternoon, September 20, 2003 in 
Greenville.  She was born on April 11, 1919 in Belding the daughter of Julius 
and Sarah Andres Rittersdorf.  She married Alan Tran on December 7, 1943 at 
St. Mary Catholic Church in Miriam and he preceded her on August 22, 1993.  
Lorena was also preceded by her sister, Rosena Wright and her brother, Louis 
Rittersdorf.  

She had retired from Ore-Ida Foods in Greenville and was a member of St. 
Joseph Catholic Church, Belding and the Ave Maria Guild.

Lorena is survived by her five children, Kathy and Dan Peters of Greenville, 
Alan R. and Brenda Tran Jr. of Plainwell, Thomas and Pat Tran of Wyoming, 
James and Brenda Tran of Pewamo and Patrick and Tracy Tran of Cedar Springs.  
She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; her sister, 
Mary Ann and John Lieffers of Belding; her brothers, Joseph Rittersdorf of 
Greenville, John and Marilyn Rittersdorf of Belding, Fred and Beverly 
Rittersdorf of Rockford and her brother-in-law, Raymond Tran of Smyrna. 

Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph 
Catholic Church, Belding (please meet at the church) with Father Mike Alper as 
celebrant.  Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. 
to 9 p.m. with  a rosary prayed at 8 p.m. at Johnson Feuerstein Funeral Home, 
Belding.  Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.  Memorial may be 
given to St. Joseph Church Building Fund, Gratiot Area Hospice or the 
Alzheimer’s Association of West Michigan.
