He had been a resident of Ionia quite 30 years, most of the time at the late home on Forrest street. He was aged 52 years, and leaves the wife, but no children, a young son having died eight years ago. Rev. J. R. Neirgarth preached an exceedingly appropriate funeral sermon. The singing was by Mrs. VanCamp and Mrs. VanSlyke. There was a line of some eighth members of the Arbeiter Verein and Railway Carmen, in the funeral procession. The bearers were: Martin Klenk, John Waidelich, Roman Steinberg, Frank Mileski, John Smurry, and John Krawinski. Card of Thanks: I return my sincere thanks to the Shopmen and the Arbeiter Verein, as well as to the many friends who were so good and helpful to me in my sorrow. Without a relative in American upon whom to call, I found in these friends all necessary assistance.
