Ionia Shopper's Guide-Sat. Sept. 26, 2020

TRAVIS
Steven Lee Travis aged 66 of Ionia passed away September 17, 2020. He was 
born September 21, 1953 in Ionia the son of Gerritt and Marian (Tingley) 
Travis. He was the first patient to be admitted to the Ionia Memorial 
Hospital as a newborn.

Steve graduated from ionia High School with the class of 1972. He married 
Brenda Esham May 1, 1976 in Ionia.

Steve loved working on cars and restored his 1974 Corvette. He loved 
traveling to various Michigan Islands, canoeing and camping. He especially 
enjoyed visiting Michigan Wineries with his wife Brenda.

Surviving are his loving wife of 44 years, Brenda Travis of Ionia. Children; 
Lee Travis and Leisha Frost of Rockford and Jessica (Joe) Lafler of Ionia. 
Grandchildren; Brayden Lafler, Kierstyn Lafler and Jalynn Lafler. Mother-in-
law Mary Esham and Ralph Bowerman of Ionia. Half-sister Janice (Joe) Kammers 
of Ionia. Aunts and Uncles; Bob and Jan Travis of Greenville, Vicki and 
Bernard Dailey of Hubbardston and Arlene Brown of Missouri. Several Cousins 
also survive. 

Steve was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents Velma and Arley 
Travis.

Funeral Services were held at the Shiloh Community Church Tuesday, September 
22, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Kenneth Harger officiating. Interment 
Easton Cemetery. Visitation was held at the Lake Funeral Home in Ionia on 
Monday 4-7 P.M. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to the
