Arley Travis, 73, of 524 Beresford, died Thursday morning at Ionia County
Memorial hospital.  He was born in Woodbury December 20, 1903, the son of Grover
and Etta Nead Travis.  A resident of Ionia for 38 years, he retired as a
custodian at Ionia high school.  Mr. Travis was a past member of the Moose in
Ionia.  He married the former Velma Merritt August 8, 1925.

Survivors include his wife, four sons, Merritt of Ionia, Carl of Coldwater, Jack
of Charlotte and Robert of Belding; four daughters, Marie Spaulding of Lansing,
Arlene Brown of Missouri and Sandra Fahey and Vicki Dailey of Hubbardston; two
brothers, Kenneth of Sunfield and Berdyne of Ionia; 26 grandchildren and four
great-grandchildren.

Services are Sunday at 1:30 p.m. from the Roetman Lake funeral home in Saranac
with Rev. Lloyd Walker officiating.  Burial is in Saranac cemetery.  The family
will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Friday and 3 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday.
