Mrs. Elizabeth M. Treat, aged 88 years, an Orleans pioneer, died at her home 
in Orleans township, Sunday evening at about 9 o’clock, following a lingering 
illness caused from cancer.  Mrs. Treat came to Orleans township many years 
ago and has seen the country develop from a wild state to what it is today. 

The funeral was held Tuesday from the home at 2 o’clock in the afternoon, Rev. 
P. Ray Norton officiating and burial was in Green’s cemetery.  Mrs. Treat was 
a mother of John W. Moore, who died two weeks ago.
