Dorotha Mae “Dorothy” Trebian, age 86, of Sheridan, passed away Sunday, 
December 26, 2004 at Ionia County Memorial Hospital.  She was born on May 16, 
1918 in Hubbardston, the daughter of Jason and Georgia Fowler Lafler.  Dorothy 
graduated from Lyons High School with the class of 1936 and was class 
valedictorian.  She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Stanton 
and a life member of the order of the Eastern Star, Crescent Chapter #47 
Stanton.

Dorothy was married on November 13, 1939 in Ionia to Orville William Trebian, 
and he preceded her in death on May 24, 1999.  she was also preceded in death 
by her parents; one brother, Carl Lafler; three nephews, Karlyle Lafler, Gary 
Lafler, and Gary Trebian; her sisters-in-law Neva Church, Blanche Martin, Wilma 
Trebian; and her brothers-in-law Henry Martin, Arthur Trebian and John Peterson.

She is survived by her daughter, Penny Sue Lafler of Sheridan; special canine 
companion, Sugar Bear; several nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Paul 
Trebian; and sisters-in-law Viola Peterson and Barbara Trebian.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the first Congregational 
Church, Stanton with Pastor Ken Harger officiating.  Visitation will be 2 p.m. 
to 4 p.m. and 7 p.. to 9 p.m. today at the Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, 
Belding.  Interment will be in Orleans Township Cemetery.  Memorial 
contributions may be given to the First Congregational Church, Stanton or The 
Order of the Eastern Star, Crescent Chapter #47.
