Trierweiler, 83, formerly of Ionia, passed away at home in Gaylord with both of her daughters present on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002. Gertrude was a resident of Ionia most of her life, and lived with her daughter in Gaylord. She was born on Feb. 17, 1919, in Hubbardston, to J. Calvin and Ida (Mattoon) Linebaugh. She attended schools in Orleans, Harrisville, and Boyne Falls. She was a graduate of Ionia High School in 1936, and went on to attend Lansing Business University. She married Elmer a. Trierweiler Sept. 18, 1943. Gertrude was employed at Woolworth’s, Stevenson’s Department Store, Miller’s Ice Cream, Bureau of Social Aid, two Ionia-area restaurants, Ionia State Hospital, and Riverside Center. She retired from Riverside Correctional Facility in 1984. She is survived by her children, Dale (JoAnn) Trierweiler, Dr. Patricia (Dr. Rodney) Rieger, Linda (Dr. Richard) Hoyner, Wayne (Wendy) Trierweiler, Bruce Trierweiler and Dan (Missy) Trierweiler; grandchildren Stephen Trierweiler, Arthur (Lindy) Trierweiler, Patrice (Brian) Phelps, Matthew Rieger, Jason and Brian Hoyner, Alyssa Gormley, Amy (Jody) Perrien, Rick (Jill) Trierweiler, and Kayla Trierweiler; great-grandchildren, Emily, Jacob, and Joshua Trierweiler, Alec and Bryce Phelps, Evelyn and Abigail Perrien. Gertrude was preceded in death by her parents, J. Calvin (1945) and Ida Linebaugh (1971); husband, Elmer Trierweiler (1990), brothers William (Dorothy) Linebaugh (1948), Carl (Marilyn) Linebaugh (2001), Roy Linebaugh (1992), and Howard (Phyllis) Linebaugh( 2002). A funeral Mass will be celebrated at SS.
