Tripp, 88, of 312 Fargo street died at 10:09 a.m. Thursday at the Ionia County Memorial Hospital, where he was admitted Saturday, January 27, after being found ill in the living room of his home by neighbors who missed seeing him for a few days. He was born December 10, 1862, at Bath. At the time of his wife’s death in 1945 he moved to Lyons to live with his daughter, Mrs. Elmer Hopkins. In 1946 he moved to his Ionia residence. Until taken ill, he was the oldest railroad conductor on the Pere Marquette railroad. He was a member of Lyons Masonic lodge. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Carl Vinton of Coldwater, Miss Eva Tripp of Minneapolis, Minn., and Mrs. Elmer Hopkins of Lyons; a brother, Charles Tripp, of Florida; and two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Hobart and Mrs. Iva Noonan of Owosso. The body was removed to Myers funeral home. Masonic services will be conducted, date to be announced. Interment will be in Lyons cemetery.
