          LLOYD TROWBRIDGE TOOK HIS LIFE THURS.

DESPONDENT AFTER TWENTY-FIVE YEARS OF ILL HEALTH.

               FUNERAL AT U. B. CHURCH SUNDAY

                              -----------------

   Lloyd Trowbridge, son of Mrs. and Mrs. Lillian Trowbridge, of Jordan Lake avenue,
took his own life last 
Thursday by choking himself to death.  Mr. Trowbridge had been in poor health for
the past twenty-vie years 
and had been at Traverse City hospital several times for treatment. He was released
from that institution last 
fall and had been with his mother since that time.

   On this particular day he had remained in his room, refusing to get up to his
meals, although called by his 
mother several times.  In the afternoon a neighbor called and the ladies while
visiting heard a noise in his 
room on the second story.  Thinking he had arisen and was dressing they thought no
more until they noticed 
all was quiet and the man had not come down stairs.  The women went up to
investigate and found that he 
had, by using a small rope tied to the iron bedstead, succeeded in choking himself
to death.  A physician was 
called who found that life was gone.

   The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at the First United Brethren church, Rev.
R. L. Broadway, the pastor, 
preached and Mrs. Boadway sang.  Burial was in Lakeside cemetery. 

   Besides his mother he leaves four brothers; Delos Trowbridge of this place, Omar,
known as Jack, of Grand 
Ledge, Charles and Allie of Lansing, and a sister Mrs. Gaylia Reed of Grand Rapids.

   The deceased was 45 years ol age and unmarried.
