Heaven was born in Onondaga Co., New York, Feb. 3, 1842. She was united in marriage to Robert Vickery, Feb. 16, 1860. To this union were born four children, Mrs. Ella Leak of Minnesota, Mrs. Fannie Tucker of Lake Odessa, Mich., Albert, who died in infancy, and Mrs. Edna Graham who passed away about two years ago. They came to Michigan in 1865. The husband and father of the children died at the homestead in Boston township, July, 1898. She was married to Elisha Trowbridge Aug. 18, 1901 and has resided in Clarksville until her death. This union in their later years has been pleasant and their companionship most agreeable and happy. She was converted and united with the M. E. Church in early womanhood. On moving to Clarksville she united with the Wesleyan Methodist Church. It can truthfully be said of Mrs. Trowbridge that she has adorned her christian profession with a godly and exemplary life. In quietness ever ready with a testimony for her Savior. For about three years she has borne with christian fortitude the most severe bodily suffering. The end came Sunday morning, June 2, 1912, when suffering ceased and she passed over the “River” to be with the “Redeemed.” She leaves besides her husband and children, five brothers, two sisters, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren, besides a large number of friends, who mourn, yet, not without hope. “She rests from her labors and her works do follow her.” The funeral services were held at the W. M. church Wednesday afternoon and she was laid to rest beside her former husband and children in the So. Boston cemetery. The services were conducted by Rev. J. J. Badder of Holland, assisted by Rev. Sibley of Clarksville and Rev. Laity of Lake Odessa. A quartette from the Lake Odessa M. E. church furnished the music.
