July 15, 1976 Services Held for Marguerite Trowbridge Mrs. Marguerite M. Trowbridge, 72, of 1649 Tenth St., Kalamazoo, passed away Monday, July 12 several hours after admittance to Borgess Hospital,Kalamazoo. She was born in Ionia County June 6, 1904 the daughter of Peter and Shirley (Burdick) Stites and attended the Palo School. She attended Central Michigan University, Mt. Pleasant, Ferris Institute at Big Rapids and Western Michigan University at Kalamazoo, completing her education in 1928. She taught school in Wexford, Grand Traverse and Ionia Counties for nine years until 1938 when she moved to Kalamazoo. She married Grant Trowbridge at Valparaiso, Ind., and after moving to Kalamazoo, was employed by the Kalamazoo County Social Services until 1968 when she retired. Mrs. Trowbridge was member of the Eastern Star Chapter at Ionia, the Rebekah lodge at Palo and the Business and Professional Women's Club of Kalamazoo. Surviving are her husband; two sisters; Mrs. Vern (Ida) Bogart of Brighton and Mrs. Charles (Edna) Eggstaff of Poway, Calif.; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Doris Stites of Grand Rapids. Funeral services were held Thursday (today) at 1:30 at the Pickens-Koops funeral Chapel at Clarksville. Rev. Elwood Norton officiated with burial in the Clarksville cemetery.
