Oct. 16, 1914 ANSWERS LAST CALL FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9 After Years of Suffering, Jerome Trowbridge Passes Away Friday at His Home Near Jordan Lake. Jerome Trowbridge, a well-known and respected resident of the village, died at his home near the Lake Friday, after a period of invalidism extending over 18 years. He was 84 years of age and a veteran of the Civil War. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon from the United Brethren Church, Rev. Mr. Edwards officiating and body was interred in lakeside cemetery, OBITUARY Jerome Trowbridge was born in York state, March 3, 1830; departed this life at his home on Jordan lake street, October 9, 1914, after four weeks of severe suffering, aged 84 years 5 months and 6 days. He moved with his parents to Kindiville, Ind., at the age of 7, at which place he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Rice in the year 1851. Five children were born to this union, of which three are still living. He enlisted in the war in 1861 and served his time bravely and faithfully, until in 1864, he returned home and lived happy until 1876, when his wife was taken from him by death. In 1880 he was united in marriage to Lillian Day, of Sharloe, O., to whom 9 children were born, of which seven are living, namely, Delos, Omar, Lloyd, Daisy, Charley, Attle and Gayla. He and his family moved to lake Odessa in the year 1889, at which place he has been a great sufferer, although he has been very patient and loving. Those who are left to mourn his loss are his wife and ten children, one brother and fourteen grandchildren. Funeral was held in the United Brethren church Sunday afternoon at 2:30, conducted by the pastor. J. L. Edwards. Interment was in lakeside cemetery.
