Ionia Sentinel Standard - July 21, 2011


Edith E. Trueblood, 88, of Ionia passed away July 21, 2011 in Ionia. She was 
born Jan. 4, 1923 in Ionia, the daughter of Roy and Mary (VanSlyke) Colley. 
Edith graduated from Ionia High School in 1940. She married James Trueblood 
April 4, 1943 in Missouri.

Edith enjoyed playing bridge with her friends and in past years enjoyed golf as 
well.

She is survived by her husband, James Trueblood of Ionia; sons, James Robert 
(Susie) Trueblood of Coloma and William Riley (Nancy) Trueblood of Ionia; 
brother, Howard Colley of Ionia; three grandchildren, Jason Trueblood of Grand 
Rapids, Lisa Trueblood of North Carolina and BJ Trueblood of Ionia; and five 
great grandchildren, Madison, Amelia, Marie, Grace and Peter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.

Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 25, 2011 at Lake Funeral 
Home in Ionia with Pastor Greg Gladding officiating. Visitation will be at the 
funeral home from 10 a.m. until time of services. Those wishing may make 
memorial contributions to Ionia County Commission on aging. On line condolences
