Miss Truesdell, who had been employed at the Reed factory went down to Lowell to have some sewing done. She was only ill for a short time. The cause of death was given as gastritis. She was 23 years of age at the time of death. Besides her parents she leaves two brothers, Ford Truesdell and Julius A. Truesdell. The body will be met by friends and relatives at the Reed hotel Friday at 1 o’clock sun time and the funeral will be held from the North Plains Union church at 2 o’clock. Marion E. was the second of the four children of Frank A. and Lenna B. Truesdell. She was born in township of North Plains, October 23, 1899. She came with her parents to her home near Nickle Plate, Ionia township, and began her school career at the Welch school. Later she moved with her parents to their farm home in Ronald where her parents still reside and where she grew to young womanhood, finishing school in Long Plains. She was an active member of the Union Sunday school for several years, taking part in all entertainments for both church and Sunday school work. At the age of 16 years, during a series of revival meetings held the winter of 1915, she gave her heart to God. On August 22 she was baptized by Rev. H. A. Crum and was united with the Methodist denomination of the Union church. Later she went to Ionia and found employment at the Ypsilanti Reed Furniture company where she advanced until she became an expert weaver. Wishing to obtain a higher and better position she saved her earning and October, 1921, entered the McLaughlin Business college at Grand Rapids and took up a special course in bookkeeping, typewriting, stenography, which course she had not finished, returning to Ionia about two weeks ago. On February 22 she went to visit friends at Lowell for a few days where she was taken very critically ill. Her parents were summoned and with the aid of two physicians and all that loving hands could do was done, but to no avail. She died at the home of Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Gould at Lowell, February 27, aged 23 years four months and four days. She leaves to mourn her loss a loving father, mother, two brothers, Ford A. and Julius Truesdell. A sister preceded her, having died in infancy. She leaves besides her grief stricken family a large circle of relatives and friends to mourn her untimely death. She had a kind and loving disposition and will be sadly missed by all her associates and fellow workers, both young and old.
