Ionia Sentinel Standard, 6 Sep 1973

An Ionia school crossing guard, Samuel L. Tucker, Sr., 71, of 611 Cyrus died
Wednesday evening at Ionia County Memorial hospital.

Born September 19, 1902, in Boston township, he was a son of Mr. and Mrs.
Morrison Tucker and had been an employee of Berger Motor Sales for some 25 years.

He and Gladys Raph were married in Ionia, May 5, 1944.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Samuel Jr. and Robert of
Ionia, and John at home; two daughters, Mrs. Clara Williams of Pewamo and Mrs.
Bertha Kinney of Ionia; a sister Mrs. Nina Tucker, seven grandchildren and
several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. September 8 from Myers-Roetman funeral home, the
Rev. Richard Harrison of Lyons Baptist church officiating.  Burial is to be in
Tuttle cemetery.
