Samuel L. Tucker Jr., aged 58, of Ionia, passed away February 14, 2004 in 
Grand Rapids.  He was born August 22, 1945, the son of Samuel L. and Gladys 
(Ralph) Tucker Sr. He graduated from Carson City-Crystal High school in 1964. 
He married Connee Johnson November 23, 1965 in Ionia.

He worked for Ionia County Road Commission for 38 years as Transportation Lead 
until retiring in 2000. He also worked for 17 years for Todd and Ross at Mobil 
Gas Station and he worked at Road Way Express Shipping Terminal in Ionia.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Connee Tucker of Ionia; mother, 
Gladys Tucker of Ionia; sons, David and Tina Tucker of Ionia, James Tucker of 
Ionia; brother John and Deb Tucker of Ionia; sisters, Clara and Mason (Dutch) 
Williams of Lyons, Bertha Kenney of Fenwick; sister-in-law Penny Tucker of 
Prudenville and three beloved grandchildren, Jennifer, Tommy and Justin; 
several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father September 
5, 1973 and his brother Robert in 1998. 


Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia 
with Rev. Kendall Harger officiating.  Interment Tuttle Cemetery.  Visitation 
will be Wednesday 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.  Anyone wishing may 
make a memorial contribution in care of The Tucker Family.
