In 1866 she was united in marriage to Ira Tupper of Odessa township, and to this union were born four children, Phoebe, Myron, Harvey and Alice, the first and last named of whom preceded their parents into eternity. Five years after their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Tupper went to Kansas, where they took up a homestead and lived for a like period. They then returned to Odessa township, Michigan, where the remaining years of their married life were spent. Mr. Tupper having answered the last call April 18, 1909, his wife became a member of her son, Myron's family in Mecosta county, Michigan. At their home on April 25, 1916, after an illness of a few minutes she departed this life to join her husband and two children in the next world. After a prayer at the home of her son, Myron, the remains were brought to the home of her son, Harvey, in Lake Odessa, where funeral services were held April 29, 1916, the sermon being preached by Rev. I. H. Mourer, a life long friend. Interment was made in Lakeside cemetery. In addition to her two sons, Myron and Harvey, Mrs. Tupper is survived by a brother, Henry Filley of Hemlock, Mich.., a sister, Mrs. Hannah Peaster, of Kalamazoo, Mich., eight grandchildren and a wide circle of warm personal friends. She was a former member of the local Women's Relief Corps, as well as a faithful member of the Congregational church All who knew her saw in her a devoted Christian wife and mother, and while grieving at her departure, know that after a well spent life she has gone to claim a merited reward. Those from out of town in attendance at the funeral were; Mr. Martin Tupper, brother-in-law, and daughter, Sarah, of Blanchrd, Mrs. Peter Fender, a nice of Vermontville, and Mr. and Mrs. Tib Sprinket of Sunfield.
