C. Turner Expired at Home in Village Tuesday Morning. Had Long Been Sufferer Shock of Husband’s Terrible Accident Thought to Have Undermined Her Health. After a prolonged illness of several years, although she had been confined to her bed for but four months, Mrs. Millie F. Turner widow of the late Junius C. Turner, of Danby, passed away at her home in this village at 5:00 o’clock last Tuesday morning. Bright’s disease was the cause of death. Mrs. Turner, whose maiden name was Millie F. Wellman, was born in Woodland, Barry county, on July 29, 1846, making her age nearly 65 years at the time of her death. On March 28, 1865, she was united in marriage to Junius C. Turner, and the couple at once settled in Danby township. Here they resided happily until the tragic death of the husband, due to a dynamite explosion, three years ago. The news of the horrible accident to Mr. Turner was a great shock to the widow and it has always been the belief of the children that this had a tendency to undermine her health. Funeral services were held at the late home Thursday afternoon at 1:30, conducted by Rev. F. C. Fistler, of the Baptist church, and the remains were laid to rest in Danby township cemetery. Mrs. Turner is survived by four children, who are: Leon A. Turner, Lansing; Mrs. Maude Rocka, Freemont, Ind., Clarence J. Turner, Albion, and Mrs. Grace Cotton, of Portland, who had cared for her mother constantly during her lingering illness. Besides the sorrowing relatives many friends attended the funeral Thursday and paid their last respects to a woman whose presence will be greatly missed in the entire community.
