Danby Farmer Dies Tuesday

Ora Turner Killed In Crash; Harold Penfield Is Unhurt

Well-known here was Ora Turner, 63, Danby township farmer, who was instantly 
killed about 10:30 Tuesday morning when his automobile collided with a machine 
driven by Paul Axline, 22, of Lansing, at the intersection of M-43 and the 
Mulliken road.

Riding with Axline who was headed west was Harold Penfield, son of Mr. and Mrs. 
Kelly Penfield, of East Lansing, former Portland residents.  Neither young man 
was hurt.  Mrs. Turner suffered minor injuries, according to reports of state 
police who investigated.

Funeral services for the deceased whose farm is located east of the Compton 
school, were held this afternoon in the Methodist church at Mulliken.

Surviving are the widow; one daughter, Mrs. Lola Edgel of Mulliken; and a son, 
Roy, of Kalamazoo.
