Riding with Axline who was headed west was Harold Penfield, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kelly Penfield, of East Lansing, former Portland residents. Neither young man was hurt. Mrs. Turner suffered minor injuries, according to reports of state police who investigated. Funeral services for the deceased whose farm is located east of the Compton school, were held this afternoon in the Methodist church at Mulliken. Surviving are the widow; one daughter, Mrs. Lola Edgel of Mulliken; and a son, Roy, of Kalamazoo.
