Funeral services will be conducted from the Bradley funeral home on West Washington street Saturday morning at 10:30 o’clock with Rev. Fr. Edwin G. White officiating. Burial will be at Highland park cemetery. Joe was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Turner and was born in the home on East Washington street where the family lived for many years. He was the youngest of three children, one of whom a sister died in 1894, and is survived by his older sister Jane. Mr. and Mrs. Turner came to Ionia in about 1875 where the father was until his death, weighmaster for the Ionia Lansing and Northern railroad. Joe, for a number of years worked as a butcher for the late James Younger, but his later years have been devoted to race horses, to whose care he had given close attention, having been employed by many trainers and caring for many of the best racers that have been stabled on the Ionia fair grounds.
