She was tenderly cared for during her last days by her daughter, Mrs.Ed VanDecar. The funeral was held at the home Sunday, Rev. George J. Start officiated and burial was at Lakeside cemetery. Mrs.Tusing was a loyal member of the Congregational church for many years. Besides her immediate family three daughters and one son, she leaves a brother John Hummel of this place and a brother at Big Rapids. She was one of the oldest survivors of the pioneer days of this village. OBITUARY Eliza Ellen Hummel was born April 17, 1852, and departed this life March 12, 1936, at the age of 83 years, ten months, and 25 days. She was married to Simon Tusing on January 1, 1870, in Ohio. To this union four children were born; Mrs.Mary Ann VanDecar, Harry B. Tusing, Mrs. Rebecca E. Knott and Eva May Tusing. Mrs.Tusing came from Ohio 54 years ago and has lived in this vicinity ever since. Mr.Tusing passed away 25 years ago. She leaves to mourn, the four children, two brothers, Sid Hummel of Big Rapids and John Hummel of Lake Odessa. In early life she confessed her Lord and was a member of the Congregational Church for several years.
