Jan. 3, 2021 Shirley Tuttle, age 86, of Sheridan, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 3, 2021, at Green Acres. Having grown up on a dairy farm, Shirley saw early on in life the value and importance of working hard and being true to who you were, which is something she did her entire life. The nice thing with Shirley Tuttle was you never had to guess where you stood with her or what she thought about any particular subject. As the oldest child, Shirley worked every day on the family dairy farm growing up and in high school Shirley also kept the books for a local construction company. After high school, she and her late husband, Frank, owned and operated Tuttle Sport's Shop for nearly 30 years. After the store closed, Shirley began a second career working for the State of Michigan, a job she did for nearly 18 years. However, of all the jobs Shirley had throughout her life, being a mom and Nan were her absolute favorites. Shirley was very active in the lives of her children and grandchildren, be it in 4-H, T-ball or Little League, Shirley loved spending time with her family. Surviving Shirley is her son, Steven (Essie) Tuttle of Oakland, California; grandson, Dave (Tiffany) Bingaman of Sheridan; great grandchildren; Tara, Austin, Lauren, Hailey, Liberty, Caitlyn; sister-in- law, Polly McKendry of Cary, North Carolina; brother-in-law, Earl Scott of Saranac, and several nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer & Alice (Howe) McKendry; husband, Frank Tuttle; daughter, Judy Bingaman; grandson, Travis Bingaman; sister, Carol Scott and brother, Wayne McKendry. Due to the COVID Pandemic a private funeral ceremony is being held. Shirley will be laid to rest next to her husband, Frank at Tuttle Cemetery in Ionia. For those wanting to make a memorial donation in Shirley's memory the family suggests you direct them to the Travis Bingaman Memorial Scholarship Fund and those donations may be sent to the Tuttle Family at P.O.
