Ionia sentinel March 1, 1969
Walter Tyler, 72 of Route 2, Saranac died Friday at Ionia County Memorial 
Hospital where he had been a patient for the past eight days. He was born 
January 26, 1897 in Alaska, Michigan, coming to the Saranac area from Battle 
Creek in 1935.

Surviving are two sons, Glenn of Ionia andOGeorge of Saranac; four daughters, 
Mrs. Marjorie Bowerman of Lake Odessa; Mrs. Hazel Carigon and Mrs. Ruth Dixon 
of Saranac and Mrs. Rosalynn Bennett of Belding; 31 grandchildren and 20 great-
grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Monday at 2 PM at Easton United Methodist Church. 
Interment will be at Easton Cemetery. Family will be at Stone Kauffman funeral 
home Saturday from 730 until 9 PM and Sunday afternoon and evening from 730 
until 9 PM.

Bearers will be grandsons, Ralph and James Bowerman, Gregg and Randy Tyler, 
Stephen Carigon and Carl Ritz.
