Nov. 30, 1967 CLARENCE A. TYLER PASSES AWAY Clarence A. Tyler, 46 years of 114 E. Kent Street, Grand Ledge passed away at a Lansing Hospital Saturday afternoon of a heart ailment. He was born May 7, 1921, in Woodland Township, the son of Leon and Irma (Sheldon) Tyler and graduated from the Woodland High School in 1939 and from Michigan State College in 1959. Feb. 5, 1947, Mr. Tyler was united in marriage to June I. Gavit who survives as well as son Jeffrey, and daughter, Shelley at home. Other survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tyler, of Woodland, two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Buck of Freeland and Mrs. James (Cheryl) Hurlburt of Fremont, Ohio; also two brothers, Merrill of Grand Rapids and Gordon of Hastings. He was a member of the Bretton Woods Covenant Church in Lansing and was employed at Hager-Fox in Lansing. A Veteran of World War II, he served in Normandy, Northern France and in the European African middle Eastern theatre. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Pickens Funeral chapel in lake Odessa, with the reverend Marvin Zimmerman and Thomas Churn officiating. Burial in Lakeside cemetery.
