W. Tyler, another of Ionia's oldest residents died Sunday at noon at his home, 336 West Front street. The funeral were held from the residence Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Mr. Tyler was about 71 years of age and had been ill most of the winter. His brother-in-law, Joseph Norris, also died on Sunday at Grand Rapids, and the remains were brought here Tuesday at 11:17 for interment in Easton cemetery. Ionia Sentinel - Thursday, May 11, 1899 The funeral services for the late Wm. Tyler were attended from the residence on Front street May 10. Rev. E.M. Jeffers officiating. The pall-bearers were Herb Hinds, Wm. Haysmer, Mr. King and Z. Eddy. The interment was in Highland Park cemetery. Deceased was an Ionia pioneer and well known resident and was 69 years of age. His daughter, Mrs. Frank Tyler, of Detroit, and brother, A.H. Tyler, of Numba, New York, were here to attend the funeral. He is also survived by a widow.
