TYLER IONIA-Arthur W.Tyler, 76, of 422 Haynor Road, died early Saturday morning at Ionia County memorial Hospital. He was born in Matherton June 8, 1904, the son of Alvin and Hattie Riker Tyler.He attended Matherton schools and worked as a mechanic f International Harvester Equipment all his life. He worked for the Sanborn Equipment Company in Portland and Whittenback Sales and Service in Lowell. After retirement in 1970, Mr.Tyler had his own woodworking shop in his home. He is a member of the Ionia Masonic Lodge No.36 F&AM. He married Nina Sebring June 20 1925, in Ionia and made h is home at Haynor Road since 1945. He is survived by his wife,Nina; two sisters,Mrs.Leona Peoples and Mrs.Lucille Pike, both of Ionia; and several nieces and nephews. A brother, Sterling Tyler, preceded him in death Jan.19, 1972. A Masonic memorial service was held at 7 p.m. Sunday in the Leddick Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Leddick funeral Home, with the Rev. Carl Hausermann of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in East Plains Cemetery, north of Pewamo. Memorial funds have been established for the Ionia County Commission on Aging and the Ionia Masonic Lodge. Contributions may be left at the funeral home.
