Frank Tyler Laid in the Grave. The remains of J. Frank Tyler, who died at Grand Rapids at eleven o'clock last Friday night, from injuries received the night before, on the C. & W. M. railroad, arrived here at 11:25 today, for interment. The remains were accompanied by the stricken wife sad daughter, the decease's father, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Stone, of Detroit, and a number of the departmental attaches of the Grand Rapids office of the American express company, with which company Mr. Tyler, too, was employed. The deceased was one of the very best and most widely known expressmen in the state, and a delegation of six from Detroit, and four from Lansing attended the burial ceremonies. The funeral party was met at depot by a large representation from Ionia Council of the Royal Arcanum, of which organization Mr. Tyler was long and honored member, who took the remains in charge, and at 1 o'clock the body was borne to Highland Park for interment. The ritual service of the Royal Arcanum was performed at the grave, and Rev. W. H. Thomas, D. D., assisted with prayer and the benediction. Funeral services were conducted at the Grand Rapids home of the deceased on Sunday. The floral offerings were profuse and magnificent, beautifully attesting the genuine esteem in which he was held. Mr. Tyler would have been 45 in July, and his untimely and unfortunate death is the occasion for heartfelt mourning. He was substantially a lifelong resident of Ionia. He was born in the village and lived here continuously up to two years ago, but was never away long enough in this latter time, hardly, to lose his residence. The Standard can consistently voice the sentiment of an old resident, who this afternoon said of the deceased: "I have known him since his babyhood, have watched him grow through boyhood. He was an exemplary boy, honorable in his every deal, and in his business life, was in the fullest sense a useful man and citizen."
