Ulrich, 71, of Muir died Tuesday May 8 at a Shelbyville, Indiana hospital as the result of an auto accident Friday in which she and her husband were injured and an Indiana woman killed. Services will be conducted Friday at 10 a.m. at the Shaw-Rivett funeral home with the Rev. Fr. John G. Carlton of the St. John’s Episcopal church of Ionia officiating. Interment will be in Salt River Cemetery in Shepherd. She was born September 17, 1878, in Liberty and moved to Shepherd in 1889. In 1900 she married Benjamin A. Ludwick and moved to Pewamo where he died in March 1918. She later married Otto Ulrich in Ionia July 31, 1925, and moved to Muir where they resided since. She was a charter member of the Pewamo O.E.S. and the last living charter member. She was a member of the Muir Library club, the Presbyterian Ladies Aid and of the St. John’s Episcopal church of Ionia. Surviving are the husband, Otto, a son, Harold Ludwick of Pewamo; three grandchildren: a sister, Mrs. Lena B. Woodruth of Highland Park; and two brothers, Harry Neely of Flint and Glenn Neely of Kalamazoo. From the scrapbook of Bessie Townsend held at the Lyons Museum, Page 80: Bearers were Coral Estep, J. Lee Strachan, Clare Lewis, Gerald Spaulding, Ellis Van Sickle, and Stanley Nowicki. Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Kimball of Lyons were in charge of flowers and Mrs. Susan White was in charge of music. Those from away who attended the funeral included Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Van Sickle, and Miss Marjorie Davarn of Lansing; Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Spaulding and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Pinnow of Ionia; Mr. and Mrs. Bela Woodworth, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Nowicki of Highland Park; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Niely of Flint, Mrs. Mary Long of Eaton Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Ludwick, William Davarn, Thomas and Peter Ludwick, all of Pewamo; Mrs. Roger Davarn of Fowler, and David Ludwick of Fort Knox, Ky.
