                                CURTIS H. UNDERWOOD

LAKE ODESSA-Curtis H. Underwood, 68, of rural Lake Odessa, died Tuesday morning 
at Blodgett Memorial Hospital in Grand Rapids.

He was born in Ionia on March 10, 1915, the son of Bert and Mina Curtis 
Underwood. He attended Ionia Schools and gradated in the Ionia High School class 
of 1934.

He started working at Gibson refrigerator in Greenville.

He was married to Evelyn Edinger on July 26, 1941, in Ionia. They made their 
home in Greenville for one year, moving to Ionia in 1942.

He started work that year for Ypsilanti Reed furniture Company and continued 
working for its successor firms.

He retired in 1975 from General Tire in Ionia.

He and his wife moved from Ionia city in 1946, making their home on a farm on 
Ainsworth Road in Lake Odessa.

Surviving besides his wife, Evelyn are one aunt, Mrs.Fern Johnson and nieces and 
nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. from the Leddick 
funeral Home, the Rev. John F. Sorenson of first United Methodist Church 
officiating.

Interment will be at the Lakeside Cemetery in Lake Odessa.

The family will be at the Leddick Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 
from 7 to 9 p.m.

A memorial fund haa been established for the Emphysema Society in care of the 
funeral home.
