Aug. 20, 1955 Funeral services were held for Mrs. Mina Underwood Friday at the First Baptist church at 2 p.m. She died Tuesday afternoon at the Ionia County Memorial Hospital. Interment was at the Easton cemetery the Rev. W. L. Cruthers and the Rev. W. W. Pixley officiated. William and Robert Whitesides sang, “Open the Gates to the Temple” accompanied by Miss Ethel Crispin. James Roberts was in charge of the ushers with the C. C. W. class in charge of flowers. The bearers were Paul Johns n, Harold Signs, Norbert VerPorter, Frank Lance, Ronald Powell and Wayland Markham. Those attending from out of town were, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Johnson of Greenville, Mrs. Grover Easterday of Hillsdale, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Kench, Mr. and Mrs. George O’Brien, and Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Coates of Lansing, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Curtis of Vermontville, H. L. Cobb and Mr. and Mrs. Philip Ansorge of Grand Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Hackett of Coopersville, Ranselarer Curtis of Sparta, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Beemis, Mr. and Mrs. H. Statler of Coldwater, Mr. and Mrs. Riley smith of Saranac, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Michael and Mrs. Gerald Statler of Kinderhook. A group of employes from the auditor general’s office in Lansing also attended.
