Sentinel-Std. - Wednesday, Oct. 15, 1980

Belding- Mrs. Dorothy Underwood, 79, of Saranac, died Monday night at the 
Belding Christian Nursing Home. She was born April 23, 1901, in Barry 
County, the daughter of John and Mary Parker Aspinall.

She attended Friend Rural School in Barry County and married Fay Underwood 
Oct. 18, 1919.

Mr. Underwood preceded her in death Oct. 11, 1969, and two brothers, Ford 
and Lonnie, also preceded her in death. 

She lived in Ionia and Barry counties most of her life.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Greta Hecht of Saranac and Mrs. Boneta 
Fisher of Breckenridge, one son, Floyd Underwood of Ionia, two brothers, 
Russell Aspinall of Lowell and Floyd Aspinall of Hastings, two sisters, Mrs. 
Floffie Slagel of Hastings and Mrs. Doris Tangeman of Kimball, Neb., 17 
grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. 

Services will be at 1:30 pm Thursday in the Pickens-Koops Funeral Chapel in 
Lake Odessa with the Rev. Elwood Norton, officiating.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Friends and relatives may visit Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm in the 
funeral chapel.
