Clarksville,Mich. Nov. !4- "This is a gloomy day. I am feeling badly, Should anything happen to me, I do not wish to be buried in a shroud but in my own clothes and at my home in Indiana." This is a portion of a letter left by Emmer Unger, aged 44, who shot himself through the temple today, addressed to his sister,Miss Unger, at Cuyahoga falls, Ohio. Unger committed the deed in the barn of Billy Richardson, about two miles southeast of Clarksville. He came to the Richardson farm during the forenoon and after eating dinner, went for a short walk. He was later seen returning toward the barn. Richardson, an hour later, went to the barn, and hearing a noise on the barn floor, went there and found Unger lying in a pool of blood and struggling about the floor, with a bullet hole in the left temple and a 32-calibre revolver beside him. He lived about an hour. In Unger' pocket was found the letter addressed to his sister at Cuyahoga falls. It had been finished just before he started on his last walk. He had talked a great deal about the neighborhood, it is claimed of late concerning how he wanted to be buried, should he die, and the people were of the opinion that his mind was affected, presumably from an attack of brain fever earlier in life. A certificate of deposit in his pocket indicated that he had $295 in a bank at Saranac. He came to this section about four weeks ago from the Dakotas where he had been at work, and had been working for various farmers. His mother died about two years ago at Plymouth,Ind., his home He, besides this sister at Cuyahoga Falls, had one in Louisiana and two in Indiana. The Ohio sister was communicated with and will come to Clarksville and take the body to Plymouth for burial.
