Lake Odessa Scrapbook - January 1893

Died at her home in Odessa,Jan. 15th, 1893, Mrs.Hannah Unger, aged, 56 years, 2 
months and 1 day.Deceased was born in Seneca Co., Ohio, was the daughter of 
David and Marcia Crapo. She came to this state with her parents in 1952 and 
married Daniel Unger in 1853, nearly all of their married life has been spent 
int he home from whih her Heavenly Father called her spirit to the better world, 
two daughters came to bless their lives, MRs.Belle King, of Lake Odessa, and 
MRs.Blanche Falkner, of Berlin. A wave of sadness passed over the community when 
they knew dear Mrs.Unger was gone. She was a well known and estimable lady, 
being a woman of great ability, her loss will be felt by all who knew her, she 
was converted to God in early life and at one time was a member of the Christian 
Church and she has ever proved by her exemplary life, her sincerity in the 
Savior's love. In her last illness where her suffering was most extreme she was 
never heard to murmur, saying she was in God's hands and all was well.
Her death-bed scene will never be forgotten by those who were permitted to be 
present, almost her last words were blessed Jesus. When she saw her loved ones 
coming to say a last farewell her countenance seemed to assume a look of heaven, 
such a radiant, blissful expression and although she could not speak a word she 
plainly made all understand that she desired them to meet her in heaven, a smile 
rested on her face before entering into it, the expression of her eyes was 
glorious and made all who saw it, want to die the death of the righteous. the 
deep grief of the family is shared by all who knew her.
