Otisco Twp. Farmer Taken By Death

Mars Lucas Updike, age sixty-nine years, passed away at his home in Otisco 
township Monday evening. August 25. He had been in ill health for a long time. 
Mr. Updike was born in Hilldale and had resided at his farm west of tow for 
over twenty years.

He is survived by his wife and five children, Mrs. Edna Poe, of Ypsilanti; Mrs. 
Mabel Jacobson, of Escanaba; Mrs. Helen Tinkham, of Chicago, and Wallace and 
Harold Updike, both of this city. 

Funeral will be held from the Fitzjohn funeral home at ten o’clock Thursday 
morning. Rev. H. S. Ellis will officiate, and burial will be made in the Otisco 
cemetery.
