Lowell McCarty officiating. Mr. Urie was found dead at his home Thursday. County Coroner Wallace Jackson said Mr. Urie’s death, Wednesday evening, was from natural causes. Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Bert Sowles, of Belding, and several nieces and nephews here. Mr. Urie was born on June 15, 1864. He had lived in Portland over 50 years. He owned one of the first machine shops in Portland, located on Maple Street. For years he specialized in fixing bicycles. Burial was in Portland cemetery. Bearers were Matt Hoppes, Joseph Spitzley, A. J. Spitzley, Homer Peacock, Dan Manning and Albert Pung.
